DIY: Coasters

on

It was a long weekend; and wanted to go out. So, I decided to go for shopping:P. I visited many stores and bought some t-shirts, shirts and shoes for myself. Basically, It was a fun day. On my way back home,  I saw a dollar store. I remember seeing so many vlogs on YouTube, how DIYers are making best out of dollar stuffs. Currently, Dollar store haul and crafts are trending on website/YouTube. So, without having a second thought, I stopped there. I wanted to see what kind of items they have for my craft projects and I found Popsicle sticks for a dollar. I was not sure how am I going to use them. But dollar is nothing for an experiment and I immediately bought it.

After seeing so many projects online, my mind was set to make coasters out of it. And I made it in few mins. I had all the essentials; I had stencils for design, and acrylic colors of my choice. Glued all the sticks together with the help of the hot glue gun and paint them with the acrylic paint and used stencils for designs. Outlined the design with permanent marker; And here you go, coasters are ready to use.

I like the end product because it’s so colorful.  I would say it’s a successful experiment. I also want you to try this at home, I am sure your kids will love this. Moreover, you will have that feeling, that you made something useful by yourself. The exciting part is- you are going to use these coasters everyday. and it motivates you to do more DIY projects.
