Mango-Habanero Salsa

From Blender salsa, pineapple salsa to salsa Verde..So many variations can be made according to our taste and preferences.. The great thing about Salsa is it can be made way in advance and can be stored in the air tight container for a longer time..and ofc it’s everyone’s favorite..Who doesn’t like spicy, tangy, sweet Salsa with the corn tortillas..It is also the best dip for perfect game night or party. Moreover, incorporation of variety of ingredients to regular salsa recipe can be more tempting.

In my earlier posts, I have already shared  5 min Blender Salsa which can be served as a side dish or can be added in any Mexican entrees to enhance flavor. Recently, I got a store-bought Mango salsa and it was so delicious that my family kind of obsessed with this new variety of salsa. But the thing was; this salsa was only available in a small jar that in one trip I used to buy 2-3 bottles of salsa. But This new variety of salsa kinda inspired me to make this at home in substitute for 5 min salsa.. I looked for the recipe everywhere, and I found one from thereciperebel: Mango Salsa made by Ashley. At First,I was not sure to try this but It looked so delicious and tempting. And Finally, I tried this recipe at home with few modifications and it was a biggest hit… Me and my family loved it….I would definitely love to make this again and again.I would like to thank Ashley for sharing this recipe with us..Now, I am so relived that I do not have to look for the mango salsa at the grocery stores and I can easily cross off this item from my must-buy grocery list. Here, I would like to share my version of Mango Salsa..

Ingredients:

  • 4 Roma tomatoes, diced
  • 2 mangoes, diced
  • 1 Green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 can Hunt’s tomato Sauce
  • 1/2 cup regular white sugar
  • 2-3 diced, seeded Habanero or Serrano Peppers
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cilantro, chopped

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a large pot.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to medium low and simmer for 45 minutes – 1 hour, until mangoes are tender and flavors have melded. At the 20-30 minute mark, taste and adjust as you desire, adding more sugar/lime juice/salt/peppers to suit your tastes.
  3. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving. Serve them with your favorite tortillas.

Enjoy.
